2022 Georgetown tournament

Congratulations to everyone on an incredible run at Georgetown this weekend! I hope you all had a great time and learned a lot about world politics and the particularly sticky issue of Article 9.

This was the first major tournament for a lot you, and you did an outstanding job — we were all impressed with the hard work and competitive spirit you brought to every round. Most importantly, you finished strong at the hardest tournament you’ll ever attend: the first one.

Congrats as well to all of this weekend’s award winners! As many of you have already heard, our Varsity teams of Joseph & Andrew and Rina & Joseph closed out finals to finish as Co-Champions of the tournament! HUGE congrats on such a dominant finish and for picking up the 7th (Rina) and 8th (Joseph) speaker awards as well!

In JV, Will & Jaslynn finished atop the pack in Semifinals, with Adam & Aiden making quarters, and Owen & Nikki octos in their first JV tournament ever! A very well-earned congratulations as well to 6th speaker Adam, 8th speaker Nikki, and 10th speaker Daniel.

Our powerhouse Novice squad had a remarkable weekend, too, with Marek & Eric finishing top 8 in quarters, and Amanda & Mary and Celina & Rebecca top 16 in octs. Eric also finished as the 3rd speaker overall, Aella 4th, and Marek 8th. Really outstanding work!

In Middle School, amazing job to Selina & Serena, who made it to the top 8 in open, as well as Alvin & Zena, who made top 16 in novice. Below is a list of all this weekend’s awards in full, as well as anyone who made the top 30 speakers in their division.
