I love debating because of its three core elements – content, strategy and style. Content – because debate teaches you more about the world and helps you gain new perspectives. Strategy – because debating is a game, which means the best debaters find ways to win even against all odds. Style – because debate is not just about winning because you know more, but because you sound persuasive and compelling. My classes will teach you all of these three: you will discover new perspectives about the world, understand how to win no matter what, and learn how to sound cool while doing it!

Coaching Style:

• Practical – I focus not only on teaching concepts theoretically, but also on applying them within different debate scenarios to hone execution skills.
• Personalized – I like working in smaller groups to have higher engagement with students. This allows me to tailor my training style and content to personalized development needs.
• Premier – I am confident that the content of my training program will be best-in-class. Lots of trainers can help beginners become good in a very short time; however, even good debaters eventually stagnate and struggle to beat the best. I specialize in making “good” debaters “great”. My track record speaks for itself and I am confident through my training regiment at VDA, we will create some of Canada’s best young debaters.
