2025 California State Fullerton

VDA debaters had another incredible weekend, this time at the highly competitive California State Fullerton tournament. The team demonstrated exceptional skill and preparation, with the partnership of Finn Ye and Apollin Lu powering their way into the elimination rounds as the tournament’s fifth-overall seed before finishing as Double Octofinalists. Further cementing their strong showing, both earned top speaker awards, with Finn finishing as the Tenth Speaker and Apollin as the Eleventh Speaker in the entire tournament!

This weekend also showcased the bright future of our program, as we celebrated Tyson Zhang and Liliana Leung competing in their very first Public Forum tournament. They finished with an incredible 3-3 record in their debut performance, a remarkable feat that speaks volumes about their hard work, quick learning, and competitive spirit. We are incredibly proud of this entire team for their dedication, teamwork, and the strong results they earned at Cal State.
