2024 U Penn

Last weekend, VDA participated in the U Penn World Schools Debate Tournament, where our students showcased their exceptional skills in both prepared and impromptu rounds. The tournament follows the World Schools debate format, which challenges teams to argue on a wide range of global issues, blending critical thinking, collaboration, and eloquent speech.

We are proud to highlight the achievements of our Novice team: Beatrice Leahu, Mabell Mathews, Grace Qiu, and Maggie Lu, who secured a spot in the Top 16, demonstrating their dedication and sharp debating abilities.

In addition, we would like to extend special congratulations to Grace Qiu, who was awarded 4th place for the Novice Best Speaker Award, and Maggie Lu, who earned 5th place. Their individual performances were a testament to their hard work, and we couldn’t be prouder!

Moving forward, we’re excited to continue building on these successes and preparing our students for future tournaments. Let’s keep the momentum going as we strive for excellence together!
