Holiday Season VDA Winter Food Drive – Help Us Feed the Hungry
This holiday season, Vancouver Debate Academy is taking a meaningful step towards community support with our Winter Food Drive. As part of our commitment to not only educate but also make a real world impact, we are channeling our energy and resources into a cause that touches the lives of many in our community.
In debates, we explore topics like poverty, welfare, and social services. These discussions are crucial for developing critical thinking and empathy. However, for some members of our community, these issues are daily realities, not just subjects for intellectual discourse. Recognizing this, VDA is launching a food drive campaign this holiday season. We invite our staff, students and families to contribute non-perishable food items, creating a collective effort to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. This initiative is an opportunity for us to transform our understanding of social issues into concrete actions.
While the holiday season often centers around festivities and gifts, this year, we’re focusing on the essence of giving and sharing. It’s a time to think about those in our community who are struggling and to offer support in any way we can.
Therefore we ask that you:
- Donate: Your donations of non-perishable food are invaluable.
- Spread the Word: Help us spread the word about this campaign on social media.
Our Winter Food Drive is more than just an event; it’s a manifestation of our values and a reflection of our commitment to the community. By participating, we are not only giving back but also enriching our own understanding of the societal issues we discuss in our debates.
