2025 Peach State Classic

VDA did it again, claiming top honours at this weekend’s Peach State Classic, an international tournament featuring 98 of the top Varsity teams from around the globe. In a display of exceptional skill and preparation, VDA emerged atop the tournament, continuing a legacy of competitive excellence.

The team’s success was built on a foundation of strong performances led by Flora Tu & Joshua Zhou, who battled their way into the tournament’s top eight teams before dropping to the tournament’s eventual champion. Their Quarterfinals run was more than just a top finish, it earned them their second bid this season to the invitation-only Tournament of Champions in April, cementing their place among the nation’s best teams.

The dynamic duo of Apollin Lu & Finn Ye had an equally impressive weekend, powering through preliminary rounds as the tournament’s fifth seed overall, earning them a strong Double Octofinal finish.

Adding to the team’s accolades, Finn Ye was recognized as the Fifth Speaker out of nearly 200 competitors, while Joshua Zhou earned a spot as Tenth Speaker, highlighting the depth of talent within the ranks.

This weekend’s collective achievement, from top seeds and deep elim runs to individual speaking awards, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and coaches. Congratulations to the entire VDA team on another outstanding victory!
