2024 Yale Invitational

Last weekend, Vancouver Debate Academy traveled two Public Forum teams and two Extemporaneous students to Yale University to compete at one of the largest tournaments of the year. This tournament is extremely challenging and takes a lot of hard work to be successful. We are very excited to share our results! 

For Public Forum, congratulations to the team of Nikki Zheng and Wayne Liang for advancing to the Triple Octafinals. This placed them in the top 64 teams at the tournament out of 160 entries! Great job!

For Extemporaneous Speaking, congratulations to Hilary Yum for advancing to the Octafinals! Hilary was also a competitor in International Extemp at the NSDA National Tournament in Iowa over the summer, and has been working hard staying on top of current events and delivering numerous practice speeches to stay prepared. Congratulations, Hilary!

We are so proud of our students and their hard work!
