VDA Achieves Outstanding Results at the 2025 Stanford Invitational
At the recently concluded 2025 Stanford Invitational, VDA’s debaters delivered exceptional performances, securing impressive results across multiple categories.
In the TOC Public Forum category, Finn Ye and Angelina Guo advanced as Triple Octofinalists, showcasing their outstanding debate skills and teamwork. Joshua Zhou and Apollin Lu were recognized as the 4th and 5th best speakers, respectively, further highlighting their excellence in the competition.
In the Open Public Forum category, Wayne Liang and Nikki Zheng advanced as Octofinalists, demonstrating their strong competitiveness in the open division.
In the Junior Varsity Public Forum category, Jadon Yao and Marcus Zhang performed exceptionally well, earning the title of Runners Up. Marcus Zhang was also named the 3rd best speaker, while Jadon Yao secured the 11th best speaker position.
In the Varsity Worlds category, VDA’s team also achieved remarkable results. Yuki Song, Sophie Xu, Maggie Lu, and Dennis Shen advanced as Quarterfinalists, showcasing their strength in world-class competitions. Kateryna Naumenko, Eaton Li, Owen Kan, and Karissa Lin advanced as Octofinalists. Additionally, Atharv Das was recognized as the 9th best speaker.
VDA’s outstanding performance at the Stanford Invitational not only highlights their debate talent but also sets a solid foundation for future competitions. We look forward to seeing them continue to achieve great results in the upcoming tournaments!
