2024 UBC WSDC

At the recently concluded 2024 UBC World Schools Debate Championship, top teams from countries like Canada, Peru, Brazil, Bangladesh, Argentina, and Armenia gathered to compete in a fiercely contested tournament. In the midst of such intense competition, seven teams from Vancouver Debate Academy (VDA) stood out, achieving impressive results.

Both VDA-7 (Dennis, Jolon, Yuki) and VDA-2 (Maggie, Jerry, Kateryna, Marek) reached the quarterfinals, each finishing with a 3-2 record, ranking 7th and 8th, respectively. Their exceptional debate skills and teamwork truly embodied the spirit of resilience and perseverance. This tournament was a valuable experience for our students, as they faced strong opponents from around the world and gained invaluable insights for their future in debating.

Congratulations to Brigitte Wong for winning 2nd place in the Novice Speaker category! Her outstanding performance amidst tough competition brought honor to both herself and VDA. We are proud of all our students and look forward to more successes in the future!
