Introduction:

Back in 4th grade I had to choose 3 after-school clubs from a selection of 24 and one of them happened to be debate. In room 612, where the junior classes were held, legends of Bangladeshi debating in my eyes would take classes and talk about their experience representing the country at international tournaments like WSDC. Right then and there a 4th grade Samirul found his childhood obsession.

Over the years I achieved that dream but along the way I found a far better reason to debate, to pick up other bright eyed young people who wanted to know about the world, engage critically with ideas and express themselves and help them succeed on the same journey that made me who I am.

Education: CIE O levels and A levels from Scholastica

Experience:

• 5 years of competitive debating experience in BP, WSC, and WSDC at a school level, 2 time member of the Bangladesh National debate team in WSDC 2025 and 2026.
• 3 years of coaching experience having coached multiple schools (and a university) in Bangladesh including WSC

Debate Achivements:

• WSDC 2025 Quarterfinalist and 30th best speaker

• Earned WSC the Best Team honors at both Dhaka Regionals and Thailand Globals in 2022

• WSDC 2026 Octofinalist, 21st best speaker and 6th best ESL speaker

• Upenn Pre-WSDC and Thistle cup 2025 runners up

• Taiwan Pre-WSDC champion and 6th best speaker

• Breaking judge at Tokyo IV
