On Friday, February 8th, 7 Vancouver Debate Academy teams flew to California to compete in the 2019 Stanford Invitational Debate Tournament. Not only did all of our debaters perform well, but we are exceptionally proud to announce that two of our teams took home 1st and 2nd place at the tour
nament!
A huge congratulations to Yuki Zhao and Elizabeth Zhou for winning 1st Place Champion Team! And also to Cynthia Fung and Nick Liu for winning 2nd Place Team. Caitlin Han and Alan Shen placed 16th, while Sunnie Li and Ned Ji were 48th out of 242 teams.
Elizabeth Zhou was also 4th Place Top Speaker of 484 debaters! Terry Su was 24th Top Speaker, Alan Shen was 41st Top Speaker, Cynthia Fung was 47th, Yuki Zhao was 51st, and Nick Liu was 87th.
All debaters performed well and we are proud of them all. They’ve gained valuable experience and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
